Meet the Team

Jo Bowen NPTC Level 1 and 2 City and Guilds (Equiv to BHS 1 and 2), Trainers 1 and 2 – Jo is the yards manager and co-owner, with past experience in Management and Hospitality and a lifetimes worth of knowledge with horses, Jo ensures the yard and its residents are cared for to the very best and teaches Horsemanship on Pony Club meets. Jo also has experience in judging show classes so is always on hand for top tips and sneaky pointers on show days!


Sarah Keightley BHS 1,2 & 3, BHSAI – Sarah is the yards instructor with over 20 years teaching experience, and over 30 years experience with horses, meaning Sarah is one of the very best instructors around. She works part time at a nursery so is always brilliant with young children and will still have a good laugh with adult pupils! Sarah herself competed to BE Novice Eventing when she was younger and also has experience producing top young horses.


Lorna Bowen – Lorna is Jo’s daughter and has ridden before she could walk! The resident crash test dummy, (albeit she very rarely crashes!) she produces the youngsters to bring on into the School. Lorna also shows to the top level with her own pony Blazing Inferno, meaning she can give students brilliant insights into the competitive riding world when she teaches as a relief instructor. Lorna has ridden at the Three Counties Show and The Junior British Show Jumping Championships.


Emily Healey – Emily came to Tewkesbury as a part-time groom and Lesson Assistant, returning to the yard after a 4 year break but now she is back Show Jumping and riding the youngsters! Emily is also learning to teach as part of her school studies and assists on Pony Club meets to teach horsemanship.


Amy Round – Amy has been with us for several years and is a part-time yard groom and lesson assistant. With a can do attitude and a calm presence Amy is brilliant around the horses, and great fun to play games with the kids!


Gemma Neil – Gem has been at this riding school all her life and knows it and the ponies inside out! A part-time yard groom and lesson assistant, Gem also helps Lorna bring on the young horses for the school and is always on hand for a smile when you need one!
